Chiefs outclassed at The Park
Results from games played in the Far North Darts Association’s spring competition last Wednesday evening were as follows (home side results given first).
Ahipara 10 Awanui 5: The doubles were a close affair in this match with the homeside leading 5-4 at the turn, while individual highlights included a 147HS from John McGovern (Ahipara) and Richard Martin top-scoring (for Awanui).
Collards 3 Waipapakauri 12: Waipap simply proving too strong, with all the visitors playing with confidence to hit 38 100-plus scores along with a Jo Steed 180 and 118 finish, while John Proctor claimed the night’s HF of 154, and Fergie Raumati top-scored for the hosts.
Mission Impossible 4 RSA Kauri 10: Mission’s Nunu Peita and Meleena Thomas scored well for the hosts while Ariana Popata and Rachelle Popata top scored for the visitors who finished well to claim a comfortable win.
RSA Nomads 11 RSA Pixies 4: The highlights for Pixies in this RSA derby included Jeffro Moore 76HF and a couple of good wins for Ava Foster and Dave Ihaka in the singles. Nomads standouts included a Harry Tepania 180 while Ian Webb hit 11 100-plus scores and the match HF of 88.
The Park 12 Houhora Chiefs 3: The visitors ended up being well outclassed in a game which featured 49 100-plus scores, Rawden Petricevich leading the count with nine. Chiefs standout Kane Henderson threw 180, the match HF of 118 and top scored along with Bruce Hall. The Park won nearly all the close 2-1 games and dominated the doubles.
Tuatua Tavern 3 Mussel Rock 12: Tuatua’s Warren Scott with the match HF 114 and Greg Taylor top scored, while standouts in a solid all-round Mussel Rock effort were Jamie Hilton- Jones 180 and top-scoring.
