Powerbase shifts in NAKFA Sevens

-

The standings have changed after week two of the 16th edition of the NAKFA Sevens competition was played out on the Kaitaia College top fields last Wednesday evening.

In overcast, drizzly but warm conditions, ideal weather for football in other words, the biggest movers on the night were the KC Crushers who, following their no-show the previous week, arrived with a formidable unit made of 1st XV and XI players from the local college to finish their first night of competition unbeaten.

Elsewhere, Eastern went three points clear at the top of the standings with four wins from four games accompanied by a daunting goal difference of 17 for/ zero against.

The social division standings also got a bit of a shake-up with NZ Destroyers taking over top spot on the standings, with a draw and a win, the latter coming over JNL Trihards — the previous frontrunners — in the evening’s top of the table clash.

Both Far North Roading and Invisible Men have withdrawn from the Premiership and Social divisions respectively, thus teams scheduled to play either side will be awarded a 3-0 win by default and a friendly will be organised where possible in remaining weeks. Teams were also reminded to audit their own results and standings as organisers cannot be relied on to be accurate.
