Alex and Selwyn made life members of bridge club

Dedicated local card sharps, Selwyn Hargreaves and Alex McFie, were presented with life memberships at the AGM of the Kaitaia Bridge Club at the end of November.

The morning of the AGM on Friday, November 30, began with a fun day of bridge which was stopped after five rounds in order to hold the AGM — of which the presenting of the life memberships proved a highlight — before the day finished with the remaining four rounds of bridge completed (see results below).

Officers elected for 2019 are, president: Ngaire Wright, secretary: Pat Watkins, treasurer: Stephanie Campbell, committee: Winnie Burkhardt, Shirley Crabtree, Dawn Hargreaves and Irena Dahlstrom, tutors: Julie Frost, Leona Campbell and Selwyn Hargreaves, partnership coordinators: Beryl Smith (phone 406-1320 Fridays), Pat Watkins (408-0730 Mondays), directors: Sandy Joe and Julie Smith, scorers: Selwyn Hargreaves and Maxine Adams, auditor: Sandy Joe.
