Dogs destroyed

SAFE is demanding an end to greyhound racing cruelty, in response to news that the industry destroyed 353 unwanted dogs over the last season, having failed to rehome them. Greyhound Racing New Zealand claimed that that was the minimum rate of euthanasing that could be achieved. “After many years of reforms they still can’t get their breeding down to a level that stops them from killing unwanted greyhounds,” SAFE head of campaigns Marianne Macdonald said.
