-

The Far North RSA Golden Oldies Pool Club celebrated another season in traditional fashion by holding its annual prizegiving and end-of-year get together on Tuesday last week.

Spokesman Carol Board congratulated all of the 2018 trophy winners, and noted 2018 has been another great year for the club which included the election of a new president, Coral Cornwall, herself as the new secretary/ treasurer, and an injection of new blood on the committee.

“We also enjoyed several trips away to other clubs and hosted other clubs here.”

On behalf of the club, she invited new more members along to the weekly sessions which are held every Tuesday from 10.45am until 2.30pm, “to join in the fun and the warm welcoming atmosphere we all enjoy,” she said, but reminding members must first belong to the RSA. ■ PHOTO: Members and trophy winners of the Far North RSA Golden Oldies Pool Club at their end-of-season prizegiving, from back left, Alan Greaves, Arthur Board (club captain), Carol Board (secretary/ treasurer), Syd Silva, Bob Duggan, Jake Pene (pairs double winner), Ruki TeAwa (women’s round robin and pairs double winner), Sue Urlich, Ken Meade (club champion and drawn pairs winner), Moses Allen; front: Liz Muru, Ann Doolan, Derek Watson (drawn pairs doubles winner), Zala Silva, Lorraine Jarrett, Coral Cornwall president, Arthur Simeon (men’s round robin winner), Sandra Dykins, Chic Brown, Tessa Pont and Tubby Dykins, while absent are Tom Murray and Gilda Brown.
