The Northland Age

And then . . . nothing

-

I am writing to you as in the last month I have had nothing from anyone at the council.

On November 19, I tripped on some uneven pathway outside the old gym near the ASB bank.

As a result of that fall I have a broken elbow and ribs.

I contacted the council on the day, and left my complaint, and duly got my number for my complaint.

Later that day I was contacted by Fulton Hogan, who had no idea of where I was talking about. I explained again, and then nothing.

I contacted the council again, and once again Fulton Hogan phoned. The man who called again had no idea of what I was talking about. I may as well have been talking to a brick wall. I sent an email and pictures, and again nothing.

The third time I phoned the council I was given some names of councillors.

I contacted one, who asked me to send details, which I did, and do you know what? Nothing.

Not being one to give up, I contacted her again, and duly sent all the details again, and yes, you have guessed it, absolutely nothing.

Am I asking too much of a council to do their job and fix a dangerous piece of pavement? And maybe, just maybe, give me an apology for what has happened? Or would that be a miracle?

The thing is, my pain and suffering goes on, because if my arm doesn’t heal I am going to have to have it operated on. Can anyone tell me what we pay these people for? ANNETTE WORROW
