Pristine green greets players

Highlights aplenty in Xmas Cheer tourney

-

A beautifully decorated clubroom, a grass green in ideal conditions, and some fierce and fun competition from a full field of 16 teams were the highlights of the First for Electrical Christmas Cheer Triples tournament hosted by the Kerikeri Bowling Club recently.

Teams from Kensington, Cooper’s Beach, Waitangi and the host club enjoyed a beautifully prepared grass green thanks to the efforts of Maurice who was up with the sparrows to make sure it was in pristine condition.

The day finished with several teams claiming four wins before the top placegetters were found, being Paul Vegar with Melanie and Keith Hinton (Kerikeri) 1; Ian Woodley, ‘Aussie’ Dave Harrison, Ted Meyer (Kerikeri) 2; and Diane Strawbridge, Graham Galant, Bill Harris (Kensington) 3.

Speeches made complimented the club on a well-run tournament, and Christmas greetings went to all who attended while saw promises were made by many to attend the various major events set to be run by Kerikeri in the new year.

The next open event at Kerikeri is the Putts Florist Classic Fours (any combination) on Sunday, January 6; followed by the popular Makana Confections Pairs 2x4x2 Open on Wednesday, January 23.
