Shocking play

-

A severe electrical storm saw players scurrying during the nett competition at Houhora on Sunday. The thunder and lightning caused the event to be shortened to 16 holes. The adjusted results saw Ash Mitchell coming home first with 68 points followed by Ivor Bates 72 and Louis Kemara third with 74. Mitchell also took out the 9-hole haggle last Wednesday with 27 stableford points ahead of Richard Thompson 19 and visitor Graham Turner on 18. This is the second Wednesday that Ash has emerged victorious and after combining his two scores, amassed a tally of 52 stableford points, resulting in him taking home the meat pack prizes. “There’ll be no shortage of meat in the Mitchell household this Christmas,” the event report concluded.
