Sad reality

-

How sad it is that 95-year-old Jim Morgan and others are not able to take daily walks with their companion pets without risk of attack by uncontrolled dogs.

Not only do people like Jim suffer financial loss for treatment for their beloved pets, but they also suffer emotionally from the loss of a great companion, as in Jim’s case, as well as fears for their own safety.

Jim and others are great role models with their companion pets, caring for them, being responsible owners and receiving much love and affection in return, from what can be a very rewarding relationship with an animal, which can be man’s best friend or worse enemy, depending on the owner, and their sense of responsibility.

Will Jim or Sandy or any other person or animal receive justice for such irresponsibility of others? The answer is a very big NO, as our councils, police and court system are nothing other than a great big laugh.

Sorry Jim, and others, you nor Sandy, nor any other animal or human, should ever have to face attacks, injuries, disfigurement or death in this way, but sadly, with the evil systems we have in place, more incidents shall continue in the future.

Sorry for your loss Jim. I know how heart-breaking it can be, and the emptiness in life without your best friend at your stage of life. A very sad Christmas and New Year, but let’s hope you find some joy in 2019.

All the best, and thanks everyone for your support for Jim. May Sandy be remembered, not forgotten, by those who knew him/her. JOHN BASSETT
