Plans for big sports area

The Kaitaia Borough engineer, Mr. A. Bax, was last night directed by the borough council to prepare plans showing the proposed facilities and use of the 24-acre block of land opposite the Mangonui County A. and P. Showgrounds, which the council intends to purchase from Mr. A. R. Dyer as a sports complex for $30,000, provided satisfactory financial arrangements can be made.

Mr. Bax was also directed to prepare alternative plans envisaging the use of only the main rear portion of the land, not several acres of road frontage.
