Beware tummy bugs

Northland Medical Officer of Health Dr Jose Benito has emphasised the importance of hand hygiene in a response to a spike in campylobacter cases. Dr Benito said 15 cases of campylobacter, one of them in the Far North, had been notified in the first week of 2019, but none were linked. The causes were believed to have included recreational water contact, contact with infected animals, drinking untreated water and raw milk.
