With two weeks to go until New Zealand’s biggest and best-loved multi-day sailing regatta, CRC Bay of Islands Sailing Week, organisers remain confident of seeing ecord numbers register .

The entry list for the 2019 event, which takes place from January 22-25, already stands at 101 boats. This time last year entries stood at 87, with the final total being just over 100 boats. Spokesperson Manuela Gmuer-Hornell said the continued growth of numbers shows just how much people loved the annual event.

“We’re almost totally run by volunteers, and that’s something I’m really proud of. We have always aimed to be a regatta “run by sailors, for sailors” and I think that’s what makes Bay Week special.”
