A very much tongue-in-cheek post on the Northland Age Facebook page has suggested an upside to Kaikohe’s ongoing problem with dog attacks, as an attraction for adventurous visitors: “Great North Tours. The town where everybody can get to take home free dog bites. Great photos to show family and friends. High-risk selfies. To show you are heroic.”
