Juniors feature in Centre rep squad
into singles to play 21 shots, pairs and triples over 18 ends and a time limit of two hours with 3 points for a win and 1 point for a draw.
Organisers congratulated all the teams for participating and noted it was a real pleasure to support the junior bowlers, before thanking the match control, greenkeeper, markers and host club.
The next centre event is the junior 1-8 year singles on Saturday and Sunday, February 16-17.

REPS NAMED.The Far North open rep teams have been selected by Bunty Barron and Paul Vegar to play in Auckland on March 22-24 are as follows.
WOMEN, singles: Hoki Cassidy, pairs: Eileen Strongman (skip), Mary Korewha [lead], fours: Kaye Gorrie (skip), Pania Sigley (three), Dianne Davey (two), Linda Fowlie (lead), with reserve Liz Muru, and coach Bunty Barron. MEN, singles: Sam Allison, pairs: Barrie Johnstone [skip], Wayne Glogoski [lead], fours: Ray Glogoski (skip), Jon Young (three), Ian Holley (two), Shaun Richards (lead), reserve: Dion Davis and coach Paul Vegar.
The overall manager for both teams is Sonya Marsh from Russell.
Centre match convener Bunty Barron noted two upcoming juniors had been picked for the women’s squad for the experience as both were keen and had the ability to go further.
“This year we are rebuilding the team, with harmony and compatibility very important, and also introducing the juniors as they are our future,” she said, singling out Marsh out for special praise.
“Our overall manager is doing a wonderful job and is very professional in what she does, [which includes being] busy arranging the fundraising for travel and accommodation, and all the players have the utmost respect for her.”
In other centre news, Ann Muir will be coming up from Whanga¯rei next month to get the local centre coaches reaccredited.
