Soil moisture levels decreased almost everywhere in the North Island last week, except for slight increases in the eastern Whanga¯rei and Far North districts. Soil moisture levels were below normal for the vast majority of the North Island, particularly in the New Plymouth District, parts of western coastal Waikato and the western Far North.
