Greens brimmeth over at Kaitaia RSA
The Kaitaia RSA Bowls Club completed the annual Bell’s Produce Any Combination 2x4x2 Pairs tournament in very hot conditions recently.
The event attracted 18 teams from Cooper’s Beach, Opononi, Church Road, Houhora and the host club which saw an over-full green, thus necessitating byes.
The first three teams all recorded four wins each. The top placegetters were Evelyn Bradley, Brent Colley (RSA/ Opononi) 4 wins, 22 ends, 54 points, 1; Reo King-Bennetts, Selwyn Hargreaves (RSA) 4, 21, 41, 2; and, Sonny Hokia, Dave Riddle (RSA) 4, 18, 34, 3.
At the completion of play, president Lillian presented the winners with their prize envelopes and thanked the sponsors for their generous support, and acknowledged the club’s greenkeeper, tournament controllers, along with the kitchen, raffles and timekeeping crew.
