Drifter rolls

Emergency services were called to Waipapakauri Ramp at around 11pm on Saturday after a car rolled on the beach, coming to rest on its roof. The driver was understood to have been “drifting in the dark,” according to police. A passenger was taken to Kaitaia Hospital with minor head injuries.
