Daniel Pepper, a former principal at Kaitaia’s Pompallier Catholic School, is in Middlemore Hospital after surgery to repair a little finger that was reportedly almost torn off in a tug-owar accident on Friday night. St Dominic’s Primary School, in Blockhouse Bay, where Mr Pepper is the principal, has decided to remove tug-of-war from the agenda at its annual school picnics.
