Two dogs go hi-tech

-

It’s hard to tell from the photo whether he’s likely to be impressed or not, but Diane Hewitt’s 2-year-old dog Bobby is about to be adorned with the latest high technology accessory.

Bobby, who lives at Waiharara, is the winner of one of two Animo dog behaviour and activity monitors, worn on the collar, that will give Diane all sorts of information, including changes in his behaviour such as barking, scratching and shaking, which can be an indication of discomfort, illness or distress.

It will supply a comprehensive picture of Bobby’s behaviour and wellbeing through charts and graphs on the Sure Petcare Animo app, identifying what is normal and unique for him, including how much sleep he’s getting, particularly if veterinary intervention is required.

The second Animo was won by keen duck shooter Cailee Stewart (Kaitaia), who will be attaching it to 2-yearold labrador Pumba’s collar.
