Have mercy

-

It’s obvious jihadist Mark Taylor is in need of psychiatric help, as are many wandering our streets, ruining lives by pushing drugs.

A bad birth? Pregnant mother boozing? Lack of a loving parent? Missed by the education system? There are hundreds of reasons why this lost man found himself involved with the people he did.

One thing’s for sure, if New Zealand doesn’t bring him home probably to prison and hopefully professional help, his life will end terribly in a foreign, very rough prison.

The leaders of two political parties immediately commented on the TV news that he could stay put as we don’t want him. The man has limited ability. Just like the two political leaders, plus a ‘want to be’ leader’s similar remark.

It was interesting that a Green co-leader and a couple of Labour ministers thought we should show mercy, although he should pay for his crimes.

No wonder, with two leaders’ attitudes as demonstrated, Christ isn’t mentioned in Parliament and a fair bit of the jackboot thinking is still present. SAM McHarg
