Kaitaia Croquet Club members have enjoyed success at various tournaments across the province in recent weeks.

Firstly, Shirley Reed and Lyn Rupapera represented the club in the Lanna Morgan Memorial Tournament played at Kensington on Saturday, March 2.

After winning pool play, the duo progressed to a final playoff in the handicap doubles section where they came up against the Waipu combination of William Wright and his grandson Jack. It was a hard fought battle with the Kaitaia duo ceding 5 free shots to their Waipu rivals before eventually claiming victory on the deciding 13th hoop.

The following day, Kaitaia’s Joe Carter won all his games to emerge as a clear winner of the association singles division of the Lanna Morgan Memorial. The tournament was hosted by the Whangarei Croquet Club.
