Kiwifruit rush on

The 2019 kiwifruit harvest has kicked off with the first of an estimated 150 million trays picked and packed in Gisborne. Harvest in Northland, and other kiwifruit regions, would start soon, said New Zealand Kiwifruit Growers Inc CEO Nikki Johnson. Around 18,000 workers would be needed in the harvest season which ran from March to June.
