Monitoring by Kaitaia veterinary practice TopVets last week recorded facial eczema spore counts of 35,000 at Houhora and 10,000 on the east coast. No spores were found in Kaitaia. Counts of 100,000 and more are considered dangerous to livestock. Monitoring results should only be taken as a guide, as levels could vary from farm to farm.
