More footy fun

The Kaitaia United AFC will run the se­cond of two fun days at Ahipara this com­ing Satur­day (April 6) from 9.30am to 12.30pm. The event is aimed at kids of all ages from Years 1 to 13 (ages five to 18) for the day which will con­sist of a se­ries of fun foot­ball ac­tiv­i­ties which play­ers will be ro­tated around dur­ing the morn­ing. The two fun days rep­re­sent a pre­sea­son muster and al­low clubs/ teams to gauge num­bers ahead of the sea­son start on May 4 (first Satur­day back af­ter the school hol­i­days).

Or­gan­is­ers also in­vited any as­pir­ing new young foot­ballers who don’t have a side yet to come along and a team for the up­com­ing sea­son will be or­gan­ised for them. The first fun day was held at Taipa last Satur­day and re­garded as a great suc­cess with an es­ti­mated 100 chil­dren in at­ten­dance.
