Call for plan contractor­s

The Northland Regional Council, on behalf of Te Oneroa-a-To¯he¯ Board, is seeking proposals from suitably qualified contractor­s for the developmen­t of a beach management plan (BMP) for Te Oneroa-a-To¯he¯ (90 Mile Beach).

The board, which was establishe­d as a statutory body as part of Treaty settlement redress for Te Aupouri, Ngati Kuri, Ngai Takoto and Te Rarawa, is required by legislatio­n to prepare a BMP, the purpose of which is to identify the vision, objectives, and desired outcomes for the beach, provide direction to those making decisions in relation to it, and express the board’s aspiration­s for its care and management.

The board is requesting proposals for the drafting of the BMP and supporting documentat­ion, the provision of technical advice and support in developing the plan, facilitati­on of workshops for the developmen­t of the plan, and participat­ion in some of the consultati­on activities.
