Guns surrendered

A Far North man was ordered to surrender two firearms to police after a shot was reportedly fired in a rural location outside Awanui on Sunday. A police spokesman said there were longstanding issues involving a neighbour’s dog, adding that the man who allegedly fired one of the weapons did not have a firearms licence.
