Passenger injured

A passenger in a car that collided with a horse on SH1 at Te Kao on Monday evening was flown to Whanga¯rei Hospital by rescue helicopter, but the driver was unscathed. According to police the horse was in the driver’s lane.

Elsewhere, police attended a single-vehicle crash on the road to Tapotupotu earlier this week. The driver reportedly lost control of the van in loose metal, the vehicle coming to rest on its roof. Neither occupant was injured.
