The top 10 prize winners in each category at the Houhora Big Game and Sports Fishing Club’s Junior Fishing Contest, run from April 1-27, were as follows:
KINGFISH: Kayla Nattrass 13.98kg (ie. 1st place), Noah McBirney-Warnes 13.04kg, Chevy Florian 11.90kg, Danielle SavillWagener 10.72kg, Jamie Slaughter 9.16kg, Summer Wagener 8.14kg, Bianca Pearson 7.44kg, Kiahn Crewther 6.52kg, William Lomas 5.24kg, and Noah Harper (10th, by lucky draw), average weight: S Wagener 8.12kg.
TREVALLY: Timo Hewitt 5.04kg, C Florian 4.10kg, Akira Te Hira 3.72, Tuva-Lisa Hewitt 3.68kg, William Lomas 3.66kg, Cody Matthew 3.28kg, N McBirney Warnes 3.06kg, Blair Subritzky 3.04kg, N Harper 2.80kg, Cayden Te Hira (lucky draw), average weight: N Harper 1.96kg.

Average weight over all species combined (except gamefish): Kaydee Attwood; sprat winners: Diontay Mackie, A Te Hira, C Fleming, gamefish tag and release: N Harper, heaviest gamefish: S Flood 12.68kg albacore, and she also tagged and released a striped marlin, heaviest billfish: none weighed in so winner was Lucie Lomas by lucky draw.
