Po­lice at­tended four road crashes around North­land in the 24 hours to noon on Sun­day. None of them rated as se­ri­ous. Sergeant Mo­hammed Atiqur said that was en­cour­ag­ing given the weather and in­creased long week­end traf­fic. Mo­torists were also phon­ing *555 to re­port be­hav­iour such as speed­ing and dan­ger­ous over­tak­ing. The in­ci­dents included a car col­lid­ing with a power box in Pai­hia at around 5am, then be­ing driven off, and the rear-end­ing of one car by another near Ca­ble Bay mid-morn­ing.
