Billiards buffs on cue as RSA tourney returns

-

A strong turnout contested the Geards Funeral Home Billiards Tournament at the Far North RSA on Sunday.

The event certainly added to what was a very busy day at the Kaitaia RSA, which was also hosting the Far North Pool Association’s ladies’ singles championships and a bowling tournament.

Organiser Roger Kane (who went on to take out the event) said the billiards fixture was usually held annually but hadn’t taken place last year because he hadn’t been around to run it.

He thanked local businesses, including the main sponsor for their very generous support of the event.

The top placegetters were Roger Kane 1, Mike Rider 2, Norm Allen 3 and Peter Pitchford 4.

?? ?? Competitors in the billiards tournament at the Far North RSA on Sunday included Kerry Kitchen, Ivan Vinac, Peter Pitchford, Jacob Winterstein, Roger Kane, Ivan Alvarez, Mark ‘Sparky’ Waldus, Norm Allen, Stew Moeau, Tai Rerekura, Tom Thompson, Mike Rider, Toto Thompson and Scotty Smith.
