Scammers return

Police in Kaitaia warned yesterday that scammers had returned — if they ever went away — following a complaint from a woman who had had a two-hour telephone conversation with a supposed IT person from Spark, who had tried very hard to get her credit card details. The call was finally ended by the woman’s husband.
