A former local government chief executive from the United Kingdom, with internatio­nal management experience, took up the position of general manager — corporate services at the Far North District Council on Tuesday.

William Taylor arrived in Kaikohe with 25 years of public sector experience, including 14 years as CEO of the West Lancashire Council. More recently he has worked across Australasi­a as a local government consultant,
