Work of Mercy

It is a Catholic Spiritual Work of Mercy to admonish sinners, to correct sinners, for their own sake, for the salvation of their souls. Israel Folau did just that, quoting Scripture.

While in Australia a senior bureaucrat of the Catholic archdiocese of Sydney has defended Mr Folau in the Catholic Weekly, in New Zealand the Catholic bishops have publicly condemned him.

So we need to understand this clearly. New Zealand’s Catholic bishops condemn both publicly quoting Scripture and publicly practising the Spiritual Works of Mercy.
