Suicidal

I am staggered by the propaganda contained in Dr Muriel Newman’s article ‘Climate change hysteria’ (May 30). This is evident by her persistent defiance of the science and the lack of respect for the welfare of our planet.

To advocate business as usual is really suggesting suicidal madness for the survival of future generations.

My letter ‘Most villainous act’ (May 14) investigates how the world’s most powerful and wealthiest interests, the fossil fuel industry, use their immense resources to create fake scandals and to fund a global disinformation campaign.

New Zealand has its connections with the New Zealand Climate Science Coalition and the NZ Centre for Political Research. This is evident by their persistent use of deviant criteria of assent to distort the scientific process, and by fabricating fake controversies.

We are fortunate in New Zealand to have an abundance of renewable energy sources to free ourselves from the dependence of fossil fuel.
