Another exhibition coming up

-

The Kerikeri Drawing and Painting Group, established in 2017 to encourage Kerikeri Village residents to indulge their interest in the creative arts, is preparing to stage its second public exhibition later this month.

The group’s members, who meet for two or three hours once a week and have a monthly tutorial by local artist Judi Soutar, have reportedly surprised themselves by discovering a rich vein of talent in a variety of styles and media, and have progressed from pencil drawings to aquarelles, water colours and Prismacolor wax pencils, though their works remain small, in keeping with the workspace.

‘A Small Exhibition from a Small Group’ will go in display at the Village Social Centre in The Close, Kerikeri, over the weekend of June 22-23, opening from 10am to 4pm both days. All works will be for sale, with proceeds to be donated to the Kerikeri Retirement Village.
