In all of the self-righteous and outraged letters you have published so far about abortion, I have yet to see any suggestion that men should exercise self-control.

It is a brief pleasure for a man to insert his seed, but it can cause months of discomfort, pain, and years of expensive responsibility for the recipient, and it often results in an unwanted child who is resented and consequently badly treated.

Think about it, men, and stop trying to justify your often overwhelming desire for pleasure by blaming females, who have to carry the responsibility for your actions. BARBARA SOBEY
