Clutching at straws

Ken Orr (Tolerating suicide, letters June 11) and other opponents of the EOLC Bill are clutching at straws as, one by one, their objections are being exposed as unsubstantiated fiction.

Now they seize on our government's recently announced initiative to tackle suicide prevention and attempt to create a link between suicide and the voluntary request of a terminally-ill patient to be assisted to die.
