Two injured

Two people needed hospital treatment in Kaitaia after they were allegedly assaulted by a man who had earlier been drinking with them. One of the victims, who police suspected had suffered a broken ankle, claimed she had been stamped on and punched, while the other, who had been struck with a glass, was treated for a cut on the head.
