A non-event

Last month was largely a climatic non-event in Northland. The only references to the region in Niwa’s summary of April’s highlights was Whanga¯ rei setting a new mean maximum temperature record (since 1967) of 22.5C, and its second-lowest daily minimum temperature of 3.7C.
