Alexandra Simons (Ta¯ipa Area School) and Tremaine Cooper (Bay of Islands College) were the speakers at a gathering of Outward Bound Kotahitanga course graduates at Waitangi’s Whare Waka Cafe´. Alexandra (Outward Bound still lifechanger, April 4), who completed the course with the other students in March, said it had made her more confident. “I can talk to more people now, not just my friends,” she said. “I guess I was worried about what people might think of me. But after being at Outward Bound unshowered, wearing the same clothes as the day before, you stop worrying about the little things and enjoy yourself more.”
