Junior football season kicking off on Saturday

The Kaitaia United Football Club’s junior season starts at Ahipara on Saturday, with six under-8 teams, nine under-11 and six under-14.

All games throughout the season will be played at Ahipara, Ta¯ipa and Kaitaia Intermedia­te School, each venue taking turn about.

The first five rounds will be “developmen­tal”. Scores will be recorded but there will be no competitio­n points.

Each Saturday will begin with the First Kicks programme, for children too young to play under-8, from 9am to 9.30, with the under-8 games also kicking off at 9am, under-11s at 10am and under-14s at 11am.

The draws for Saturday are: Under-8: Te Rarawa vs Kaitaia Primary School, Eastern Hornets vs Paparore Pukeko, Eastern Wasps vs Pompallier/Kaitaia Primary School Rebels.

Under-11: Eastern Marlins vs Te Rarawa Ko¯tare, Kaitaia Primary School Kaitiaki vs Kaitaia Primary

School Rangatira, Pompallier Warriors vs Eastern Sharks, Kaitaia Primary School Manawa vs Pompallier Piranhas, Eastern Eagles the bye.

Under-14: Eastern Makos vs Eastern Threshers, Te Rarawa Raptors vs Pompallier Destroyers, Te Rarawa Hawks vs Te Rarawa Raiders.
