Music kids’ Pak ‘n Save performanc­e

Homschoole­d Whakaaro Tahi Community Trust music students have started 2022 with another lunchtime performanc­e at Kaitaia’s Pak ‘n Save.

The group of 10 was joined by two mothers, Cathy and Marcia, along with Trust tutors Jen Whittingto­n and Jane Hillier on February 22.

Whittingto­n, seated and masked, returns to tutor with the Trust and we welcome her back with her wealth of instrument­al experience, Hillier said. Whittingto­n tutors acoustic, bass and electric guitar, keys, ukelele, recorder, drums, flute and vocals.

“Once again, we thank Sharyn van Heerden who heads this invaluable Trust,” Hillier said.

a busy holiday of working nine ’till five at the Rip Curl outlet, then proceeded to spend some hours hay making well into the evenings. Finally he had earned sufficient funds to put a deposit on his own cello.

“The busking funds will be a great help here. Bravo, Josiah.

“We are all so proud of your commitment and we look forward to hearing a lot more cello music from you over the months ahead.”

One of those occasions could be a St Patrick’s Day gig at Pak ‘n Save on March 17 (The Galway Girl, Lord of the Dance. Jigs and reels).
