The Coopers Beach Bowling Club leads and twos choice any combinatio­n pairs was played recently with a field of 20 teams, where the clubs graded leads and twos invited a graded three or skip to play with them.

Trevor Smith and Chrissy Drewery prevailed after four games of an hour and 10 minutes with 4 wins, 28 ends and 48 points. Second were the husband and wife combinatio­n of Ken and Sue Smith with 4 wins, 27 ends, and 63 points, third Akan Martin and Sheryl Hetaraka with 3 wins, 27 ends and 45 points. Logan Taylor and Jeff Bell were the good sports.

A few days later the DB Watermansp­onsored Wrathall Rosebowl any combinatio­n open triples took place with 15 teams comprising of players from Kerikeri, Far North RSA, Kaeo, Oruru and Ō rewa and the host club to play four games of one hour 15 minutes on wins, ends and points.

The trophy went to Alan Bright, Lloyd Matthews, Paul Raynor (FNRSA) with 4 wins, 23 ends and 58 points. Second were Margaret Wildbore, Ross Hulme, Mary Wright (Coopers Beach/Ō rewa) with 3 1⁄2 wins, 24 ends, 43 points and third were Christine Hodren, Lyn McKeating, Paul Strong (Kerikeri) 3 1⁄2 wins, 21 ends and 48 points.
