Hosts win men’s open triples title

The Coopers Beach Bowling Club hosted the Shackelton’s Unichem Chemist Jane Cameron open women’s triples and the Mobile Valet Solutions men’s open triples on Tuesday, October 4.

There were 10 teams in the men’s event and nine in the women’s, with the women playing on the top green and the men on the bottom green.

The host club was joined by players from Okaihau, Russell, Kerikeri, Far North RSA and Kaitaia Church Road clubs to play four games of one hour 15 minutes with the results decided on wins, ends and points.

Results: Women:

1st: Jean Huxtable, Jill Phillips, Liz Muru (Far North RSA), 3 1⁄2 wins, 23 ends, 41 points

2nd: Christine Hodren, Sue Hunt, Tracey Kastelan (Kerikeri), 3 wins, 22 ends, 46 points

3rd: Pam Naylor, Shirley Marr, Pam Roughton (Coopers Beach), 3 wins, 18 ends, 32 points

Men:

1st: Barrie Kinnear, Dennis Breckon,

Ian Daniels (Coopers Beach), 3 wins, 28 ends, 49 points

2nd: Chris Smith, Harold Yukich, Mac Solomon (Okaihau), 3 wins, 23 ends, 45 points

3rd: Chris lambert, Zay Rio Da Silva, Brian Preston (Coopers Beach), 3 wins, 20 ends, 37 points
