75yo man arrested

A 75-year-old man was arrested in the Far North on Wednesday after police received a report someone had fired a gun, injuring a dog. Police responded to the Matai St property in Waipapakauri about 8pm. The man will appear in the Kaitā ia District Court on Friday to face a charge of reckless discharge of a firearm/restricted weapon. Police were unable to comment further as the matter was before the court.
