Floral artists explore rococo
Rococo was the Style of Design for the Kaitaia Floral Art Club Day meeting on October 17.
Results were Gold: 1st Loma Berghan, 2nd Pat McKenzie, 3rd equal Lyn Best and Raewyn Pennell. Novice: 1st Roseanne Tunstall, Lois Stather-Dunn 2nd and 3rd.
A lot of members opted for Own Choice Designs and we now discuss how they can be improved with discussion amongst all, said club spokeswoman Gloria Mitchell. There were no placings for this section. The raffle was won by Pat McKenzie.
This month, on November 11 and 12, several members are competing at the Designer of the Year hosted by the Whangārei Club. It’s a 70‘s theme, others will travel to observe and attend a Demonstration by Nancy Murphy.
The club meeting will be on the 28th, titled “Fandango” and Style of design Freeform. Floor or table designs. At the last meeting, Sarah discussed how this could be put
together, hope to see lots of Designs in the Schedule class, said Mitchell.
Lois will be demonstrating in the afternoon “Art Nouveau”.
