Karikari Community Hall has a fresh new look

-

With the support of their newly Incorporated Community Association, the Karikari Peninsula Residents and Ratepayers Association has been able to have the roof of the Karikari Community Hall painted.

The incorporated association was formed to enable worthy community projects to obtain funding; in this project, Pub Charity provided funding for the painter, Atawhai Painters, based in

Doubtless Bay.

Leena Taylor, Karikari Panui editor, says the hall was built some 20-plus years ago, and the repaint was welloverdue. The committee is grateful to the many locals who also provided materials and funding. The Karikari Rural Fire Brigade provided funds for the roof preparation which was done by Rogers and Rogers Plumbers from Kaitaia.

Brian Page, chair of the association said, “Without the brigade’s input this project could have been stalled indefinitely while we raised the necessary funds to cover the start-up cost of this project. This was vital as it essentially bought us breathing room.”

The association also wishes to thank the Day family who kindly donated 19 containers of paint This is far more than is required to do the job, so there will be plenty left over for future projects.
