Board meeting
Te Hiku Community Board this month held its second meeting since the local body elections. During the meeting at Te Ahu, the board granted over $25,000 to three community groups: $20,000 to Houhora Big Game and Sports Fishing Club for the purchase of a commercial oven; $3000 to Paparore School for equipment hire for the school Whanau Open Day; and $4000 to SMC Events for the Te Hiku Sanitarium WeetBix Kids TRY Challenge event kit. A key decision was the official appointment of Councillor Felicity Foy as the council’s representative to the board. The last community board meeting for the year will be held on December 13.
