Mangonui gardeners treated to orchid insights
More than 40 members attended the November meeting of the Mangonui Garden Club in Coopers Beach earlier this month.
Participants were treated to an excellent presentation on orchids by Lorna from the Orchid Society. Lorna, who drove up from Kerikeri to share her knowledge and experience, was an inspiration to both growers and would be growers of these beautiful plants, said a club’s spokeswoman.
This month's theme for the floral arrangement competition was “Sparkles and Glow”. Arrangements from Georgette Halliday 1st, Jan Hedley 2nd and Liz Oud 3rd were judged the best.
