Christmas Fare wraps up year
Houhora’s festive tournament ends season in style
The Houhora Bowling and Sports Club recently held their Houhora Four Square-sponsored Christmas Fare tournament with eight teams from Oruru, Coopers Beach, RSA and Houhora competing.
The rain managed to keep at bay until the last game when there was a scramble for raincoats, said Christine Stratton, club spokeswoman.
Winners on the day were:
1st - Mike Reddy, Robyn Allan and Cedric Campbell with 4 wins, 24 ends and 64 points
2nd - Logan Taylor, Mike Bairstow and Richard Rowbotham with 3 wins, 18 ends and 35 points
3rd - Liz Muru, Hilton McCartny and Russell Hockley with 3 wins, 17 ends and 32 points.
Good sorts were Phil Rako, Brenda and Rowdy winning the chocolates.
The club wishes to thank the Houhora Four Square for their generous sponsorship once again, without which these tournaments
couldn't be held.
This is the club’s last tournament for the year.
